Bobby Hett

We had a main line drain clog under the house. Russell was our technician and approached the problem from outside the house, working retrograde from a trap in the front yard. I was skeptical but it worked when my efforts with a cable inside the house had failed. He was very professional and pleasant to deal with.  We asked him to install a cleanout closer to the house for future use and we were very satisfied with the work.

Tyler is the best! He came to our parent's house, knew exactly what the problem was, and explained it to us without the typical guesswork. I'd recommend him any time you need a good plumber.

Blocked or Weak Airflow

The air filters in your HVAC system are designed to trap dust, dirt, and other airborne particles, preventing them from entering the system and being recirculated throughout your home. However, when these filters become clogged, they restrict airflow, causing your HVAC system to work harder to circulate air. This increased workload reduces the system's efficiency and shortens its lifespan. Blocked or closed vents can cause similar issues by preventing air from moving freely throughout your home. Problems within the ductwork, such as leaks or blockages, can also lead to poor airflow by allowing conditioned air to escape or become trapped before it reaches your living spaces. The first step in resolving poor airflow is to check and replace your air filters regularly. Most manufacturers recommend changing filters every 1 to 3 months, depending on the type of filter and the level of use your system experiences. Ensuring that all vents are open and unobstructed by furniture or other items is also essential. If the problem persists, it may be time to inspect your ductwork for leaks. In these cases, it’s best to contact an HVAC company for AC repair services. Professionals have the tools and experience to identify and resolve ductwork issues so that your system operates efficiently.

Leaks in Refrigerant Lines

Refrigerant leaks can occur for many different reasons, including wear and tear on the system, corrosion of the refrigerant lines, or damage caused during installation or maintenance. When a leak occurs, the system loses refrigerant, which reduces its ability to absorb heat. As a result, the system must work even harder and run longer to achieve the right temperature. This leads to increased energy bills and more wear on the components. If you are concerned about a possible refrigerant leak, it’s important to call a professional right away. Handling refrigerants requires special qualifications due to the potential health hazards and environmental impact. A technician from an HVAC company in Orange can locate and repair the leak, recharge the refrigerant, and test the system to ensure it’s running efficiently.

Unusual Sounds and What They Mean

HVAC systems can produce a variety of sounds, each indicating a different potential problem. Banging or clanking noises, for example, may suggest that a part inside the system is loose or broken, such as a fan blade or motor component. Squealing sounds often indicate an issue with the belt or motor bearings, which may need lubrication or replacement. Hissing noises could point to a refrigerant leak or air escaping from the ductwork. These noises should not be ignored, as they can lead to more extensive damage to your system. Identifying the type of noise can help diagnose the issue. If you hear a banging noise, turn off the system and inspect it for loose or broken parts. In many cases, the problem can be resolved with minor adjustments, such as tightening a loose screw or lubricating a squeaky component. However, if you’re unable to locate the source of the noise or if the noise persists after making adjustments, it’s best to contact a professional.

Inefficient Thermostat Operation

There are several reasons why a thermostat might malfunction, including wiring issues, battery failure, or outdated technology. In some cases, the thermostat may not be accurately reading the temperature, causing the system to run too long or not long enough to maintain the desired temperature. In other cases, the thermostat may be set incorrectly, causing the system to cycle on and off frequently. Check the settings on your thermostat to make sure it’s set to the correct mode and that the temperature is set appropriately. Cleaning the thermostat’s interior components, such as the contact points and sensors, can improve its accuracy and responsiveness. However, if the thermostat is outdated or malfunctioning, it’s a good idea to upgrade to a programmable or smart thermostat. These modern devices offer better control over your home’s climate and can reduce energy consumption. For more complex issues, such as wiring problems or system integration, it may be necessary to contact an HVAC professional for AC repair services.
